Contact St. Louis Mental Health

Whatever led you here, a page about a particular condition, a question about paying for care, a late-night search you would rather not describe, this is where looking into treatment turns into a single, manageable conversation about actually beginning it.

St. Louis Mental Health works with adults, 18 and older, both on our St. Louis campus and, through Virtual IOP, anywhere in Missouri. Reach us at (314) 237-4435 whenever the moment feels right, or fill out the form on this page. Confidential help is there at any hour, and a first conversation costs nothing and starts nothing you have not agreed to.

If you are in crisis as you read this, please start somewhere faster than this page. Call 911 in an emergency, or reach a trained counselor now through the lines on our Crisis Hotlines page.

Message Us

The form goes to the same admissions team you would reach by phone, and most messages earn a reply inside a business day, often well before that. Write in as much detail as you want, or barely any – we can work from whatever you give us. If you are in a hurry, a call is the quicker route, since it connects you with a person on the spot.

None of it is required, but a few things tend to move the first call along:

  • your insurance card nearby, if you have one
  • a rough idea of when you would be free for an assessment
  • any questions you already know you want to ask

Ways to Get in Touch

Phone

(314) 237-4435, straight to our admissions team. Best for anything pressing short of an emergency.

The form on this page

A reply inside a business day – ideal if you would rather put things in writing to begin with.

Insurance check

Send your details on the Insurance Verification page to find out what your plan covers, often within the day.

First Conversation

What the First Conversation Involves

That first call does not take long and stays relaxed. Whoever picks up hears you out, answers what you ask, and sends you off with real next steps rather than a promise to circle back. In practice, those come down to:

  • setting up a clinical assessment

  • checking your insurance benefits

  • telling you when care could realistically start, which for people who meet clinical criteria can be the same day

Any treatment plan takes shape after that assessment, not ahead of it, and nothing advances until you have had a chance to sit with what was said. Taking a few days to think it over changes none of that.

Contact Us

Contacting Us About Someone Else

Plenty of the people who reach us are not the ones who would be in treatment – they are a parent, a partner, a friend, or a provider making a referral. If that is you, we can walk through general questions and, when the moment is right, bring your person into the conversation directly, though there are limits to what we can go into without their permission. And when someone is not ready to hear it, we can help you find a way to raise the subject that does not send them the other direction. Our Family Resources page digs into that further.

Privacy

How Your Privacy Is Protected

Your privacy holds from the very first word, long before any paperwork exists. Whether you phone, send the form, or go further, HIPAA covers all of it, and the only people who ever see what you share are the clinical and office staff actually working on your care. Simply asking about treatment creates no record where none belongs, and if you ever want to know precisely how your details are kept, the team will walk you through it.

Reach Us

Reaching Us From Anywhere in Missouri

We work with adults right across the St. Louis metro, Florissant, Chesterfield, Kirkwood, and the suburbs around them, and with people well past it. Distance is no barrier: through Virtual IOP, someone phoning from Springfield or Columbia gets exactly the same first conversation as someone a few minutes from campus.

Ready to Talk

When You Are Ready to Talk

Nearly everyone finds the call turns out to be less than the ordeal they pictured, a handful of practical questions, a quick look at coverage, and a date on the calendar. When you are ready, call (314) 237-4435 or send the form on this page. Someone is reachable at any hour, and for those who qualify, admission can happen the same day.

FAQ’s

Contact Us FAQs

How soon will someone respond to my form?

Typically inside a business day, and frequently the same one. When it is urgent, calling beats the form, since it reaches a person immediately.

Will the first conversation stay private?

Completely. From your first call or message onward, HIPAA applies, and only the people directly helping you ever see what you share.

Can I ask questions without signing up for treatment?

Yes. A lot of people get in touch only to weigh their options, look into coverage, or ask with a loved one in mind, without any expectation of committing to anything. Whether and when there is a next step is up to you.

Should I have anything ready before I reach out?

Not really. It can move things along to have your insurance card nearby, or to check your coverage first on our Insurance Verification page, but neither is needed to get started.

What if St. Louis Mental Health turns out not to be the right fit for me?

Then we will tell you plainly and help you figure out where to go instead. Not everyone who reaches out is a match for what we offer, and steering you toward the wrong thing would not do you any favors. If your needs point elsewhere, we would rather send you in that direction than sign you up regardless.
